About Pizza Type View
Why this site exists and how it is put together.
Our mission
Pizza Type View is an independent informational website about pizza: what it is, what goes into it, and how its regional styles — from Neapolitan to New York, Chicago and Texas — differ from one another. The site exists to answer a simple question well: what kind of pizza is this, and what is in it?
We keep the writing plain and factual. You will not find exaggerated claims, disguised advertising, pop-ups or auto-playing video here — just clearly organized information about one of the world's most popular foods.
What you will find here
- A guide to 20 recognized pizza types, each with a short description and its typical composition;
- An overview of the basic building blocks of pizza — dough, sauce, cheese and toppings;
- Plain answers to common questions about pizza styles and ingredients in our FAQ.
Editorial standards
Every page on this site is researched, written and reviewed by our editor, Cedric Lamar Wrighten. Descriptions reflect generally accepted definitions of each pizza style as it is documented in culinary literature, and the ingredient lists describe typical composition rather than any single restaurant's recipe.
We do not accept paid placements or sponsored articles, and no brand or chain is affiliated with this website.
